Often times, learning experiences are either mandatory, too easy/difficult, boring, unrewarding or irrelevant. Education and training should engage the learner, however, the reality can be very different.
How do we make learning: fun, motivating and rewarding? Gamification is the art of applying game principles to improve non-game things. Without turning our course into a game, we may be able to borrow some principles from gaming to enhance online learner engagement and motivation.
