Moodle LMS version 3.9 is a community-focused release that brings improvements for teachers, administrators and students to make the teaching and learning experience better for all users.
As per usual, this release has been more than 6 months in the making. And contains a bunch of new features, enhancements, bug fixes and security patches.
Here’s a quick overview of the headline features.
Accessibility improvements in key Moodle pages like the Dashboard, many of the Activities, as well as aspects of the Gradebook.
Full H5P integration: H5P is now available as a Moodle activity that teachers can connect to the gradebook. A new Content bank for H5P: a shared space where you can create and store H5P activities and use them anywhere in your courses.
The new Activity chooser makes it easier to locate activities and resources. The new ‘Starred’ tab lets you favourite your most used items, and Moodle administrators can recommend activities and resources for teachers in the new ‘Recommended’ tab.
Participants filter is now more powerful and allows you to combine different filter options and build filters with multiple conditions. This feature is funded by the Moodle Users Association (MUA) A new Course copy feature, also funded by MUA, allows you to easily duplicate courses from within a course or from the course management screen.
Integration with Safe Exam Browser to easily create controlled environments for Moodle Quizzes. This project was designed, funded and developed by 8 Universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Moodle Partner Catalyst and Moodle HQ.
