The vision for Moodle

At the recent iMoot 2013 international conference, Moodle founder and lead developer, Martin Dougiamas, shared his vision for the Moodle learning management system software.

An open, yet private, platform that:

• can be used easily for free from any device;
• provides the most flexible toolset;
• supports teachers with their teaching;
• supports learners with their learning;
• scaleable to any size needed;
• allows anyone to contribute to education globally.

It is an inspiring vision that highlights our educational philosophy:

Learning should be open, connected and flexible. Learning deserves to be available to anyone, at anytime, from anywhere, about anything.
