The introduction of a national regulator, Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) on 1 July 2011 continues to deliver key reform to Australia’s vocational education and training (VET) sector.
Minister for Tertiary Education and Skills, Chris Evans said:
The implementation of a national regulator in the VET sector is a key step in improving the quality and consistency of VET regulation around the nation.
The new system of national regulation was developed in consultation with states and industry with support from stakeholders: training providers, employers, industry skills councils and unions. The reform builds upon the Government’s $10.6 billion investment in the sector.
